Job Overview
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented Painter/Taper to join our dynamic construction team. In this role, you will be responsible for preparing surfaces, applying paint and coatings, and finishing interior and exterior spaces with precision and care. Duties
- Prepare surfaces for painting by cleaning, sanding, caulking, plastering, and applying primer to ensure optimal adhesion and finish quality
- Apply paint, stains, varnishes, and other coatings using brushes, rollers, spray guns (including airless paint spraying), and conventional spray equipment
- Interpret technical drawings, schematics, blueprints, and surface preparation instructions to execute projects accurately
- Use hand tools and power tools safely for surface preparation, fixture installation, carpentry tasks such as trim or frame carpentry, and minor repairs
- Perform construction site painting tasks including structural painting, industrial painting, renovation work, and restoration projects
- Ensure compliance with safety regulations by utilizing respiratory protection equipment and adhering to safety protocol guidelines at all times
- Assist with surface inspection through visual color comparison and quality control checks to guarantee consistent color matching and finish standards
Qualifications
- Proven experience in residential painting, commercial painting, or industrial coating applications with a strong understanding of construction painting surface preparation techniques
- Skilled in the use of hand tools, power tools, paint sprayers (including airless), brushes, rollers, and scaffolding or ladder use for elevated work
- Knowledge of color theory to achieve desired aesthetic effects and accurate color matching
- Familiarity with safety regulations related to construction painting including respiratory protection and safe handling of hazardous materials
- Strong attention to detail with a focus on quality workmanship in renovation or remodeling projects
