Marketing Internship
Walnut Capital is seeking two Marketing, Events & Content Interns to join our team—one primarily supporting Walnut Capital's residential portfolio and one supporting Walnut Captitals commercial portfolio (Bakery Square and The Strip District Terminal).
Both internships share many of the same responsibilities, and candidates will apply through this posting. During the interview process, we'll get to know your interests, skills, and experience to determine which opportunity is the best fit.
This internship is ideal for someone who is creative, organized, and enjoys a mix of marketing, content creation, event planning, and customer engagement. You'll gain hands-on experience working on real marketing campaigns while helping create memorable experiences across some of Pittsburgh's most recognizable properties.
Responsibilities include:
- Capture and edit photo and video content for social media, websites, email marketing, and other marketing initiatives.
- Assist with social media planning, content calendars, blogs, newsletters, and digital marketing campaigns.
- Create basic graphics and marketing materials using Canva or similar design software.
- Help plan, coordinate, and execute community events, including setup, teardown, vendor coordination, and on-site support.
- Provide concierge and guest service support by assisting visitors, answering questions, and helping create exceptional experiences.
- Maintain digital signage, promotional materials, and marketing content across multiple platforms.
- Support resident engagement programs, ambassador initiatives, and other special marketing projects.
- Stay up to date on social media trends and bring fresh creative ideas to the team.
Qualifications:
- Pursuing a degree in Marketing, Communications, Public Relations, Hospitality, Event Management, or a related field.
- Strong communication, organizational, and time management skills.
- Experience with photography and/or videography (professional camera or iPhone).
- Familiarity with Canva, social media platforms, and basic photo/video editing software.
- Creative, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple projects in a fast-paced environment.
- Friendly, outgoing, and comfortable interacting with guests and residents.
- Available to work flexible hours, including occasional evenings and weekends for events.
- Must be available to work a minimum of ~20 hours per week.
- Must have reliable transportation to travel between assigned work locations and off-site events as needed.
Location & Schedule
- This is an in-person internship.
- Interns will be assigned to one of the following work locations: Bakery Square: 6425 Penn Avenue, Pittsburgh, PA 15206, The Strip District Terminal:2101 Smallman St, Pittsburgh, PA 15222, Walnut Capital Corporate Office: 5500 Walnut Street, Pittsburgh, PA 15232
- Occasional travel to other Walnut Capital properties and event locations may be required.

Pay: $16.00 per hour
Expected hours: 20.0 – 40.0 per week
