Summary
We are seeking an Assistant Manager to join our team at Cranberry Cinemas. This role is pivotal in ensuring smooth operations and delivering exceptional service to our guests. The Assistant Manager will assist in overseeing daily activities, managing staff, and enhancing the overall customer experience.
The job of the part-time assistant manager at Cranberry Cinemas is to assist the management team with overseeing a staff of 30-50 floor staff employees and with running the day-to-day operations of a first-run movie theater. The ideal candidate will possess a strong sense of organization, efficient and effective communication skills, as well as the ability to help complete the day-to-day operations. The candidate must have some leadership/cash handling experience, understand business operations and be willing to work with / mentor theater employees to provide top-notch customer service.
In addition to modeling Tuxedo Cinemas Core Values of Friendliness, Cleanliness, and Safety, the assistant manager possesses a strong sense of organization, efficient and effective communication skills, and the ability to juggle multiple demands throughout the shift.
This is a part-time, hourly paid position. To maximize the 29.99 shifts this will be a mix of manager and floor shifts.
Responsibilities
- Assist the General Manager in daily operations and staff management.
- Ensure high standards of customer service are maintained at all times.
- Manage cash handling processes and oversee financial transactions.
- Coordinate events and promotions to enhance guest engagement.
- Supervise shift schedules and ensure adequate staffing levels.
- Train and mentor team members to foster a positive work environment.
- Address customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly.
Job Responsibilities (Not all-encompassing):
- To assist the management team with the following:
- Manage a staff of 30-50 employees and 3 cleaners.
- Follow Moviescoop's no phones during shift policy.
- Provide direction, coaching and leadership to personnel while supporting company policies and procedures.
- Provide fast, helpful, friendly and proactive customer service by recognizing issues before they occur, resolving the ones that do, and leaving the guest with a positive experience.
- Provide an experience that is comfortable, distraction-free and picture-perfect.
- Serve fresh, appetizing and properly prepared food and beverages.
- Operate digital movie projectors.
- Staff management (conflict management; onboarding of new hires).
- Models how to provide top-notch customer service and interact with guests in a friendly and fun manner.
- Coordinates large group showings; resolves customer complaints.
- Assists GM and corporate office with movie promotions.
- Mentors staff on positive customer service interactions.
- Watches for safety or security issues and reports to the general manager and/or resolves directly.
- Conducts spot-checks of on-screen picture quality.
- Must be ServSafe Certified within 3 months of accepting the position.
Requirements
- Proven experience in a management or supervisory role, preferably in the entertainment or hospitality industry.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop a team.
- Excellent customer service skills with a focus on guest satisfaction.
- Ability to manage cash handling and financial processes accurately.
- Effective communication skills, both verbal and written.
Qualifications:
- Understand the need/value of possessing and maintaining a positive, energetic attitude.
- Comfortable with enforcing theater policies, rules, and regulations.
- Self-motivated and able to work in a high-paced environment.
- Ability to operate at a high level of organization and prioritization.
- Comfortable communicating and working with customers, supervisors, peers, subordinates and vendors.
- Prior money handling/counting experience.
- To be able to stand, walk, lift, twist and bend on a frequent basis.
- Comfortable around computers with a working knowledge of Excel, Word and basic internet communications. (Familiarity with Macintosh a plus.)
- Regular and consistent attendance
- The employee is occasionally required to climb or balance and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl. The employee may occasionally be required to lift up to 60 pounds. Employee is required to walk, go up steps, and stand for prolonged periods of time to perform the duties of this job.
- Must be able to provide 3 professional references we can contact.
- Have reliable transportation. (A personal vehicle is required.)
- Must work nights, weekends, and major holidays.
- Shifts required until around midnight or 1 a.m. for major releases.
