The Phoenix, AZ location is a fast-paced compounding pharmacy with a dynamic and energetic team of individuals. We are currently seeking a Pharmacist for our Closed Door Pharmacy. This position will utilize his/her skills and experiences to uphold pharmacy standards for counseling, dispensing, record keeping and quality assurance programs. A pharmacist will be able to demonstrate leadership by coaching and mentoring pharmacy team members.
Responsibilities:
- Review and interpret vets orders for appropriateness to ensure that overdoses or under-doses have not been prescribed and that interactions, incompatibilities or toxic compounds will not result from combination of medications.
- Will dispense prescriptions to pets in accordance with policy and in conformance with regulations and laws dealing with the class of prescription; counsels patients (pet owners) about their medications and maintains an accurate, up to date profile.
- Verify the work performed by support personnel, which includes pet drug data entry, cassette filling and unit-dose drug distribution
- Pharmacist will be expected to work in spaces compliant with both USP 795 and USP 800
- The ability to focus on single tasks and quickly complete them is important to being efficient in this role
- Familiarity with pharmaceutical calculations is preferred
Requirements:
- Veterinary Compounding experience preferred.
- Experience with PCAB accreditation preferred.
- Position requires a minimum of a bachelor's degree in pharmacy and a current Arizona pharmacist license in good standing.
- Manual dexterity
- Adequate vision for tasks assigned
- Good hand eye coordination
- Ability to lift up to 30 pounds
