Job Summary
As a Mechanic / Shop Attendant, you will be responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, and repairing a fleet of vehicles and equipment used in pavement contracting, including trucks, loaders, pavers, and other heavy machinery. Your role is crucial in ensuring projects run smoothly and on schedule by keeping equipment safe, reliable, and ready for use while demonstrating our commitment to Timely performance and Accountable workmanship.
Responsibilities
Diagnose, repair, and maintain heavy equipment and vehicles used in paving and construction projects.
Perform routine preventive maintenance to keep equipment in optimal condition.
Identify and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues.
Maintain accurate records of all repairs, services, and maintenance activities.
Order parts and supplies as needed, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
Collaborate with project managers and operators to address equipment issues promptly and build Trust.
Demonstrate a positive Attitude and strong communication skills in all interactions.
Be Accountable for shop organization, safety compliance, and equipment reliability.
Contribute to Progress by recommending improvements and staying current with industry advancements.
Adhere strictly to all safety protocols and maintain a clean, organized shop environment.
Qualifications
High school diploma or equivalent; technical or vocational training preferred.
Proven experience as a mechanic with expertise in heavy equipment and/or trucks.
Strong knowledge of hydraulic, electrical, and mechanical systems.
Ability to read and understand equipment manuals and schematics.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively in a fast-paced environment.
Strong communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
