Duties (paid training provided)
- Assist patients and residents with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility support using proper manual handling techniques and equipment.
- Monitor vital signs including blood pressure, pulse, temperature, and respiration; document findings accurately in electronic health record (EHR) systems while maintaining patient confidentiality in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Support medication administration under supervision, ensuring correct dosages and timing according to medical orders.
- Provide specialized care for individuals with dementia or Alzheimer's disease, implementing memory care strategies to promote safety and well-being.
- Assist with medical procedures such as catheter care, phlebotomy preparation, and aseptic techniques during wound care or other treatments.
- Facilitate patient transfers using safe transfer methods and patient service equipment..
- Collaborate effectively with nursing staff, therapists, and other healthcare professionals to deliver comprehensive patient-centered care to our residents.
- Provide companionship and entertainment for our residents through pre-planned or impromptu events and activities.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent
- CNA certification or equivalent caregiving credentials preferred
- BLS Certification preferred
- Experience with computers preferred
- Experience working with diverse populations including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with disabilities or behavioral health needs.
- Prior experience in long-term care facilities, hospitals (including ICU or trauma centers), hospice or palliative care environments is highly valued.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs
- Strong communication skills to effectively engage with patients, families, and healthcare team members while maintaining patient confidentiality according to HIPAA standards.
