Job Summary
We are seeking a reliable and skilled Class-A CDL Truck Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting self-storage pods safely and efficiently using a specialized truck between our warehouse and residential or commercial locations. This role requires a strong understanding of commercial driving regulations and mechanical knowledge. When not driving, the candidate will assist in the warehouse, and moving and assembling/preparing containers as needed. This is a full time (35+ hours) position with a 3 On / 4 Off schedule (Hiring for Thu, Fri, Sat 7:00A - 7:00P) - OT opportunities on off days.
Responsibilities
- Operate and drive a specialized Class B straight truck with hydraulic lifting equipment and 20' pintle-hook trailer
- Load and unload self-storage pods using hydraulic lift equipment securely, ensuring all pods are transported safely.
- Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, routes, and cargo.
- Follow all traffic laws and safety regulations while on the road.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and other team members regarding deliveries and any issues encountered during transport.
- Assist in the maintenance of the truck by performing minor repairs or reporting mechanical issues as necessary.
Requirements
- Valid Class A commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Familiarity with various truck types such as flatbed, roll-off truck is a plus
- Ability to troubleshoot minor vehicle issues.
- Excellent time management skills to meet delivery schedules.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- 1-3 years previous CDL-A experience as a commercial driver.
- Forklift experience is a plus.
The successful canditate will need to attend 1-2 weeks of training in Tampa, FL or Atlanta, GA - expenses will be paid for by the company.
