Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated In Home Caregiver to provide exceptional support and assistance to individuals in their own home. This vital role involves delivering personalized care that promotes independence, safety, and well-being. As an In Home Caregiver, you will play a key part in enhancing the quality of life for clients with diverse needs, including seniors, individuals with disabilities, or those recovering from illness. Your energy, empathy, and attention to detail will help create a nurturing environment where clients feel valued and supported every day.
Responsibilities
- Assist clients with activities of daily living (ADLs), including bathing, dressing, grooming, and personal hygiene.
- Monitor patient health by observing vital signs, medication adherence, and overall condition; report changes promptly.
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to individual dietary needs and assist with feeding as necessary.
- Support mobility and transfers using proper techniques such as Hoyer lifts or patient transfer methods to ensure safety.
- Maintain accurate care plans and document all care activities, observations, and client interactions in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Provide companionship and emotional support to foster a positive environment and reduce feelings of isolation.
- Perform light housekeeping tasks such as cleaning, laundry, and maintaining a safe living space for clients.
Requirements
- Proven experience working with individuals with developmental disabilities, neurodevelopmental disorders, or in senior care settings such as assisted living or nursing homes.
- Knowledge of patient observation techniques, medication administration, first aid, CPR, and manual handling procedures.
- Familiarity with specialized care such as Alzheimer’s care, dementia care, memory care, hospice care, and home health services.
- Ability to assist with mobility aids like Hoyer lifts and implement patient transfer methods safely.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with clients, family members, healthcare professionals, and team members.
- Valid certifications in first aid and CPR; additional training in HIPAA compliance is preferred.
- Physical ability to perform heavy lifting when necessary and work flexible hours to meet client needs.
