Job description:
The Food and Beverage Floor Supervisor the Reeds at Shelter Haven is responsible for all restaurant and bar operations on a daily and shift-by-shift basis; being the “face of the operation.” Assist in the management of other venues as assigned. This position utilizes a hands-on approach. The Food and Beverage Floor Supervisor ensures that all Front of House staff are consistently providing a superb dining experience by effectively interacting with external guests.
Duties/Responsibilities:
· Ensure compliance with all applicable laws and regulations pertaining to safe food storage and handling and serving of alcohol in all its forms (beer, wine, spirits).
· Coordinate front of house food and beverage staff.
· Supervises the front of house team members; effectively serving as the floor manager.
· Works with the Director of Food and Beverage and uses reservations and forecasts to appropriately schedule front of house staff based on expected business levels.
· Complete missed time clock punches correctly and on time.
· Have a strong, highly visible, and respectful presence with the guests, be an exceptional communicator, know how to accommodate guests with an elevated level of service while balancing the needs of the company. Further, the candidate must effectively communicate these expectations to their staff to execute those guest expectations.
· Ensure all food and beverage facilities and equipment are properly cleaned, stored, vacuumed, and properly stocked according to anticipated business volume daily.
· Establish and achieve quality and guest satisfaction goals. Respond in a courteous and prompt manner to all guest questions, complaints, and/or requests to ensure an elevated level of guest satisfaction.
· Analyze guest insights to identify and meet customer expectations and build on guest loyalty.
· Hire, train and create employee schedules. Provide mentoring, coaching, and regular feedback to team members to improve performance and manage conflict.
· Ensure all credit and financial transactions are handled and maintained in a safe, secure manner.
· Work with the Director of Food and Beverage to recommend and develop creative strategies to achieve department goals.
· Have a strong sense of urgency and responsiveness to guest issues, while also maintaining quality and integrity. Recommend, monitor, and manage policies, operating procedures, and staffing for all food and beverage operations.
· Research new products, staying up to speed with current industry trends.
· Other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions:
- Responsible for the management of all food and beverage operations
- Manage staff training and scheduling, including customer service, food preparation, service, and cleanliness
- Coordinate food and beverage orders with other departments
- Maintain quality standards and control costs per menu item
- Work closely with other departments to ensure smooth flow of operations
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and management regarding food safety, cleanliness, and sanitation practices
- Maintain equipment maintenance schedule per department standards
- Perform all duties in a safe, efficient, and timely manner.
- Ensure compliance with all state and federal regulations including OSHA, local restaurant associations, local governments, and local authorities as applicable
- Perform other duties as assigned by the Director of Food and Beverage or the GM
Skills:
- Strong knowledge of food production methods, equipment operation, and procedures
- Excellent knowledge of menu planning principles, as well as cost control techniques
- Prioritizing and time management skills required for a great manager
- Ability to write well balanced reports and correspondence
- Strong problem-solving skills along with the ability to produce solutions in a fast-paced environment
- Strong customer service skills along with a positive attitude

Qualifications
- Staff training and supervision experience
- Food service management expertise
- Hospitality management background
- Strong leadership and team management skills
- Proficiency in POS systems and inventory control
- Previous experience in restaurant and bar management
- Budgeting and financial management capabilities
