Job Summary
We are seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring the smooth operation of our facilities through effective maintenance and repair of equipment and systems. This role requires a strong understanding of electrical systems, facilities maintenance, and the ability to read and interpret schematics. The Maintenance Technician will also play a key role in providing leadership to coordinate and communicate the requirements of the company to both internal support and external vendors.
Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on various equipment and systems within the facility/ (machinery, mechanical/hydraulic equipment, and buildings, etc.)
- Perform preventative maintenance on all machines, tools, equipment, and facilities.
- Performs a variety of electrical, plumbing, and/or carpentry functions.
- Conduct inspections to identify issues and implement corrective actions promptly.
- Oversee facilities maintenance tasks, ensuring compliance with safety standards and regulations.
- Those authorized to perform machine set-ups must perform and install safety features to ensure optimum safety to the employee, operator and equipment.
- Manage maintenance requests
- Develop and maintain Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS).
- Complete maintenance logs of tasks performed.
- Evaluate the need for outside contractors and obtain quotes for such proposed work.
- Assist with placing orders and complete paperwork for purchase orders.
- Collaborate with other departments to facilitate smooth operations and address any maintenance-related concerns.
- May perform other related assignments as needed.
Requirements
- Proven experience in facilities maintenance or a related field.
- Strong electrical skills with the ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems.
- Familiarity with schematics and technical drawings for equipment repair.
- Experience in supervising teams or leading projects is preferred.
- Ability to fabricate parts or components as needed for repairs or upgrades.
- Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to work independently or as part of a team.
- Normal operations include being able to properly lift and handle parts up to 25lbs consistently throughout an average work day of nine hours; may occasionally be required to lift up to 75 lbs. with team or mechanical assistance.
- Be flexible in job duty; go from one job to another without difficulty taking demonstrated initiative.
- Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members and other departments.
- Maintain a clean and organized area; sweep and remove debris; put tools and/or equipment in proper location.
