Creative Property Renewal Inc. is a growing commercial general contractor serving Stockton and the surrounding Central Valley. We perform public works, private commercial, tenant improvement, and restoration projects.
Our directly employed field workforce performs a variety of scopes, including demolition, framing, siding, windows, doors, painting, plumbing, HVAC, millwork, tile, and miscellaneous finishes.
Position Summary
Creative Property Renewal is seeking an experienced Field Operations Manager to lead and coordinate our directly employed field workforce of approximately 15–20 employees.
This is a multi-project leadership position responsible for foreman oversight, manpower allocation, short-term production planning, material and equipment coordination, labor productivity, quality, safety, and field employee development.
The Field Operations Manager will support our foremen by allowing them to focus on crew leadership and field production while ensuring labor, materials, equipment, and upcoming work are properly planned across all active projects.
This position works closely with project managers and project superintendents but is specifically responsible for the organization and performance of CPR’s directly employed field crews.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage, support, and develop field foremen and crew leaders.
- Create and maintain a rolling three-week manpower schedule across all projects.
- Assign field employees to projects based on schedule, skill, and production requirements.
- Coordinate manpower priorities with project managers and project superintendents.
- Review project schedules, look-ahead plans, and upcoming labor requirements.
- Ensure foremen have the information, materials, tools, equipment, and manpower needed before work begins.
- Review and approve field material and equipment requests.
- Coordinate purchasing and deliveries with office and project staff.
- Monitor actual labor hours and production against project budgets and estimated hours.
- Identify labor overruns early and work with project teams to develop corrective action plans.
- Verify employees are charging time to the correct projects and cost codes.
- Establish production goals with foremen and track progress against those goals.
- Conduct regular jobsite visits to review production, workmanship, safety, staffing, and field conditions.
- Maintain consistent field standards for quality, cleanliness, documentation, and accountability.
- Help foremen develop daily work plans and clearly communicate crew assignments.
- Evaluate employee skills and recommend training, advancement, corrective action, or reassignment.
- Assist with recruiting, onboarding, performance evaluations, and retention of field employees.
- Coordinate company tools, vehicles, and rental equipment.
- Reduce avoidable downtime, material shortages, rework, and inefficient crew movement.
- Participate in weekly operations and project planning meetings.
- Provide management with regular reporting on manpower, productivity, upcoming needs, and operational risks.
- Support compliance with company safety policies and applicable OSHA requirements.
Organizational Responsibilities
- Directly oversees CPR’s field foremen and directly employed craft workforce.
- Controls field labor allocation in coordination with project management.
- Does not replace the project superintendent’s responsibility for overall jobsite coordination and subcontractor management.
- Does not replace the project manager’s responsibility for project contracts, budgets, billing, and overall financial performance.
- Serves as the central point of coordination when multiple projects require the same field labor or equipment.
Required Qualifications
- At least seven years of commercial construction field experience.
- At least three years of experience supervising foremen or multiple field crews.
- Strong working knowledge of construction sequencing, manpower planning, production, and material coordination.
- Experience overseeing multiple projects or crews simultaneously.
- Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, schedules, and scope documents.
- Understanding of labor budgets, cost codes, estimated hours, and production tracking.
- Strong leadership, communication, organization, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to hold employees accountable while maintaining a respectful, people-first culture.
- Working knowledge of construction safety requirements.
- Basic proficiency with computers, email, spreadsheets, and construction management software.
- Valid California driver’s license and acceptable driving record.
- Ability to travel regularly between projects throughout the Central Valley.
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with commercial general contracting and self-performed construction.
- Experience managing a multi-trade workforce.
- California public works and prevailing-wage experience.
- Experience using Procore or similar construction management software.
- Experience creating short-term manpower and production plans.
- Experience developing foremen and promoting field employees into leadership roles.
- OSHA 30 certification.
- Bilingual English/Spanish communication skills are helpful but not required.

The ideal candidate is an experienced field leader who understands that successful field operations depend on preparation. This person can look several weeks ahead, anticipate labor and material needs, establish clear expectations, and help foremen succeed without taking over their crews.
The right candidate will be comfortable moving between jobsites, the office, and project-planning meetings. This position requires someone who can balance field practicality with scheduling, documentation, productivity, and financial accountability.
Pay: $90,000.00 - $110,000.00 per year
