Duties
- Prepare cuts of meat and other ingredients according to specified recipes and standards
- Assist with menu planning by preparing ingredients needed for daily specials and dishes
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the butcher prep area, adhering to food safety protocols
- Handle food products safely, including proper storage, labeling, and rotation of supplies
- Support the culinary team by assisting with meal preparation, cooking, and plating as needed
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with health regulations and safety guidelines
- Collaborate with kitchen staff to streamline prep processes and improve efficiency during busy service times
Skills
- Extensive experience in dietary department or dietary aide roles preferred
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in meat cutting techniques
- Knowledge of food safety standards and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with menu planning, meal preparation, and cooking techniques
- Background in food service, restaurant, or culinary environments with kitchen experience
- Ability to work quickly and accurately in a fast-paced setting while maintaining quality standards
