Medical Device Assembler

Role Overview
BEPC is seeking a Medical Device Assembler to support our client’s medical device manufacturing operations in Westford, Massachusetts. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented manufacturing professional interested in producing high-quality, life-supporting medical devices.
In this role, you will work within a manufacturing cell performing assembly, repair, and testing activities on products such as pacemakers, implantable cardioverter defibrillators (ICDs), leads, and related medical device assemblies. You will work according to established procedures while maintaining strict standards for quality, documentation, traceability, safety, and regulatory compliance.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform routine assembly, repair, and testing of medical devices and related components according to established procedures.
- Handle and maneuver small components and parts with accuracy and attention to detail.
- Follow written procedures and verbal work instructions to consistently meet production and quality requirements.
- Maintain accurate manufacturing, traveler, and quality documentation to support product and component traceability.
- Use electronic data collection systems and applicable computer software to document manufacturing activities.
- Follow established safety requirements and use appropriate safety equipment and devices during production activities.
- Identify and clearly communicate manufacturing issues, ideas, and potential solutions to supervisors and management.
- Participate in continuous improvement and quality initiatives designed to improve manufacturing processes, product quality, and operational performance.
- Support manufacturing cell goals and performance metrics in collaboration with manufacturing leadership.
- Follow applicable Quality Management System (QMS), Environmental Management System (EMS), and other regulatory requirements.
- Maintain a professional and positive approach when interacting with internal teams and visitors.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required.
- Ability to read, understand, and follow detailed written procedures and verbal instructions.
- Ability to accurately handle and maneuver small parts and components.
- Basic understanding of Lean Manufacturing principles.
- Ability to use electronic data collection systems and computer software.
- Strong attention to detail with a commitment to product quality and accurate documentation.
- Ability to prioritize work based on production requirements, timing, and importance.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to work successfully in a closely supervised, highly regulated manufacturing environment.
- Ability to follow strict safety, cleanliness, gowning, and contamination-control requirements.
Production Environment Requirements:
This position operates in a controlled medical device manufacturing environment. Employees must comply with established gowning, cleanliness, clothing, footwear, jewelry, cosmetic, and contamination-control requirements. Clothing must be clean, non-shedding, and appropriate for use under required lab coats or gowns. Open-toe or open-heel footwear is not permitted. Nail polish, artificial nails, makeup, and scented personal products other than deodorant are not permitted in the production area. Additional site-specific gowning and safety requirements will be reviewed with candidates.
