Operations Manager
Truck Masters LLC is looking for a strong Operations Manager to help run the day-to-day operations of our heavy-duty truck repair business.
We operate in the commercial truck repair industry, including shop repairs, mobile service, diagnostics, tires, DOT-related work, and customer support. We are growing and need someone who can bring structure, accountability, and leadership to the operation.
The goal of this position is to allow ownership to step out of daily operations and focus more on sales, administration, growth, customer relationships, and business control.
Position Summary
The Operations Manager will be responsible for making sure the shops, technicians, dispatch, workflow, customer communication, and job completion process are running correctly every day.
This person must be able to lead people, hold employees accountable, solve problems quickly, and keep operations moving without constant owner involvement.
This is not just a desk job. The right candidate must understand shop flow, technician productivity, customer urgency, and the importance of finishing jobs correctly and on time.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily operations for shop and mobile repair services.
Supervise technicians, dispatchers, service advisors, and operational staff.
Make sure jobs are assigned, followed up, completed, billed, and closed properly.
Monitor technician productivity, job status, comeback repairs, delays, and customer complaints.
Ensure service trucks are ready, organized, fueled, stocked, and available for dispatch.
Improve communication between dispatch, technicians, customers, and management.
Hold team members accountable for performance, attendance, quality, safety, and company procedures.
Help create and enforce SOPs, checklists, schedules, and operational standards.
Track open jobs, pending parts, estimates, approvals, invoices, and customer follow-ups.
Reduce chaos, delays, repeated mistakes, and unnecessary owner involvement.
Report daily to ownership with priorities, problems, numbers, and action items.
Support growth by building a stronger, more organized operation.
Required Qualifications
Experience managing operations, preferably in truck repair, automotive, fleet maintenance, equipment repair, towing, logistics, or a similar industry.
Strong leadership skills.
Ability to manage technicians and operational employees.
Good communication skills with customers and staff.
Able to handle pressure, urgent situations, and multiple jobs at once.
Organized, reliable, and accountable.
Able to make decisions without waiting for constant direction.
Basic computer skills.
Experience with shop management software is a plus.
Must be able to enforce rules and hold people accountable respectfully but firmly.
Preferred Qualifications
Heavy-duty truck repair industry experience.
Experience with mobile service or roadside repair operations.
Experience managing multiple locations or multiple service teams.
Knowledge of Mitchell, dispatch systems, GPS tracking, parts ordering, estimates, invoices, and repair workflow.
Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
