Overview
The chef of the Anchorage Grill is moving on and we are looking for a new chef/operator. Anchorage grill is a stationary food truck with waterfront views and is accessible by boat or car. You will be responsible for preparing and serving high-quality food, managing customer orders efficiently, and maintaining a clean, safe workspace. This is the opportunity to treat this business as their own and operate with a degree of freedom rarely found in the restaurant industry.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and assemble food items according to established recipes and safety standards, ensuring quality at all times
- Operate POS system Toast to process sales accurately and efficiently
- Manage customer orders with professionalism, upselling menu items to enhance sales and customer experience
- Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of the truck’s kitchen area, including proper handling of food and kitchen equipment
- Handle cash register operations, process cash transactions, and balance cash drawers at shift end
- Ensure compliance with food safety regulations, including proper food handling, sanitation, and storage procedures
- Assist with setup, breakdown, and daily maintenance of the food truck to ensure smooth operations throughout service hours
Skills
- Proven experience in food preparation, food service, or quick service & fast food restaurant environments
- Familiarity with POS systems such as Toast, Aloha POS and Micros POS for retail sales transactions
- Strong time management skills to handle busy service periods efficiently
- Excellent customer service skills with a friendly attitude and ability to upsell menu items confidently
- Ability to operate kitchen equipment safely and effectively in a fast-paced setting
- Basic math skills for processing cash transactions and managing retail math calculations
- Knowledge of food safety standards, sanitation practices, and proper food handling procedures
- Experience with cashiering, bussing tables, and maintaining a clean workspace in a retail or restaurant setting
