Responsibilities
- Install, repair, and replace garage doors, openers, springs, cables, rollers, hinges, and tracks with precision and safety in mind
- Conduct routine maintenance inspections to identify potential issues before they become problems
- Use hand tools and power tools to perform fabrication, adjustments, and installations on various door components
- Read blueprints, schematics, and technical diagrams to accurately assemble and troubleshoot systems
- Perform heavy lifting of door sections and hardware safely while adhering to safety protocols
- Fabricate custom parts or modifications as needed using welding or metalworking techniques
- Ensure all work complies with local building codes, safety standards, and manufacturer specifications
Skills
- Proficiency in glass installation and fixture installation techniques
- Strong mechanical knowledge with experience in welding, metal stud framing, carpentry, and trim carpentry
- Skilled in the use of hand tools (hammers, screwdrivers) and power tools (drills, saws) for construction tasks
- Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and electrical diagrams accurately
- Experience with locksmithing or lock installation is a plus
- Knowledge of electrical systems related to garage door openers and safety sensors
- Construction site experience with remodeling or renovation projects is highly desirable
- Capable of heavy lifting and working at heights on ladders or scaffolding safely
- Familiarity with caulking techniques for weatherproofing or sealing applications
- Hands-on experience with fabrication processes including welding or metalworking techniques
- Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot mechanical or electrical issues efficiently
