Controller
About Us
Founded in 2019, my client is a fast-growing, engineering-driven company supporting the aerospace and defense industry. We design and deliver highly specialized test and measurement solutions that ensure the safety and performance of critical flight systems.
From our base on Florida’s Space Coast, we partner with leading aerospace programs across commercial and military platforms. Our work is complex, meaningful, and expanding and we’re building a team that wants to grow with it.
The Opportunity
To conform to U.S. export control regulations, requirements of this position include being eligible to work with export-controlled products and related data without restriction. We’re not hiring a traditional Controller. We’re hiring someone who wants to build, improve, and make an impact.
This is a high-visibility role working directly with leadership, where you’ll help shape financial operations in a company that is scaling quickly. You’ll be expected to step in, figure things out, and bring structure to a growing business.
We’re building a team of people who are intellectually curious, driven, self-motivated, and strong communicators. If you’re looking for a role where you can stay in your lane and just execute tasks, this isn’t it.
What You’ll Do
- Own the Financials – Ensure accurate, timely financial reporting and maintain strong internal controls
- Turn Data into Insight – Help leadership understand what’s happening in the business and where to focus
- Build What’s Missing – Improve processes, systems, and reporting as the company grows
- Partner Across the Business – Work closely with operations and leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and decision-making
- Lead and Develop – Support and mentor team members while building a culture of accountability
What Makes You a Fit
We’re intentional about the kind of people we bring onto the team:
- Intellectually Curious – You ask why, dig deeper, and don’t settle for surface-level answers
- Driven – You take ownership of your work and follow through without being managed closely
- Self-Motivated – You see what needs to be done and take action without waiting for direction
- Strong Communicator – You can clearly explain financial concepts to non-finance partners and build trust quickly
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance (MBA a plus)
- 5+ years of progressive experience in accounting or finance
- Experience with ERP (Plexi, Epicor, Primavers), implementation and management
- Processing payroll (ADP a plus)
- Experience in month, quarter, yearly closing.
- Experience leading projects or mentoring others (formal management experience not required)
- Strong foundation in accounting principles and financial reporting
Why Join Us
- Be part of a growing company in a high-impact industry
- Work directly with leadership and influence how the business operates
- Gain exposure beyond accounting: operations, strategy, and growth
- Join a team that values ownership, accountability, and getting things done
If you’re looking for a role where you can learn quickly, contribute meaningfully, and grow with the business, we’d like to talk.
