Job Description
We are hiring a reliable and hardworking Cook for a college dining facility in Bridgewater, VA. The Cook will be responsible for food preparation, cooking, maintaining food quality, and following all food safety and sanitation standards.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and cook food according to recipes and dining facility standards.
- Ensure food is cooked properly and served at the correct temperature.
- Assist with ingredient preparation, plating, and serving as needed.
- Maintain food quality, portion sizes, and presentation.
- Follow all food safety, sanitation, and hygiene procedures.
- Properly store and handle food and ingredients.
- Clean and maintain kitchen equipment and work areas.
- Work effectively with the kitchen and dining team during busy periods.
- Perform other duties as assigned by management.
Qualifications
- Previous cook, line cook, or food service experience preferred.
- Basic knowledge of food preparation and food safety.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong teamwork and communication skills.
- Reliable, punctual, and able to follow instructions.
- Ability to stand for extended periods and work around hot equipment.
- Clean background for the past 7 years is required.
Pay Rate
$16–$18 per hour, depending on experience.
Pay: $16.00 - $18.00 per hour
