American Traveler is seeking an experienced ICU RN for a 13-week night shift travel contract at a Level I Trauma, Magnet-designated acute care hospital in Springfield, IL.

ICU position within a 562-bed acute care hospital designated as both a Level I Trauma Center and a Magnet facility
-
Primary focus is trauma and burn ICU patients, with medical and cardiac overflow patients as well
-
Average daily census of 10–12 patients
-
Night shift schedule: 3x12-hour shifts (18:45–07:15)

Every other weekend required
-
Floating within scope is required; travelers may float within the hospital or to a nearby affiliate hospital

Charting is done in Cerner
-
Free parking is available with a permit obtained during orientation

Active IL RN license required — pending licenses are not accepted

Minimum 2 years of ICU nursing experience required

Required certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS — AHA and Red Cross cards accepted; RQI AHA cards are not accepted

SSN and DOB required for consideration

All required licenses and certifications must be active at time of consideration

First-time travelers are not eligible for this position

Local candidates are accepted with no radius restriction

Any permanent or PRN employee of the Memorial Hospital System must have been separated for at least 12 months before applying as a traveler

Candidates must be available to work 2 out of 3 major holidays

RTO of 5 days or fewer is preferred; requests exceeding 5 days require facility approval

Travel pairs are not accepted — candidates must be placed individually

Scrubs may be any solid color
