At Parcel Plus, we provide business services to individuals and businesses. We help customers with packaging, shipping, copying, binding and faxing. We also sell packing and office supplies, greeting cards and stamps. We rent mailboxes and notarize documents. We perform housekeeping duties daily, and maintain an orderly and safe work environment at all times.
Role Description
We're looking for an energetic employee for the Store Associate position. This is a part-time, on-site role at the Parcel Plus in Rockville, MD. The job requires standing for extended periods of time and occasionally lifting parcels weighing up to 40 pounds. Customer service and communication skills are essential to the job. Applicants should be out-going, friendly, and able to direct customers during transactions. Work hours may include weekend, early morning and evening shifts.
- sorting mail and package drop-offs into mailboxes or for carrier pick-ups
- printing, faxing, and scanning documents for customers
- answering the telephone and fielding questions
- selling stamps and merchandise
- packing customer items for shipment
- explaining shipping and mailing options to customers
- greeting customers and questioning them to determine their needs
- entering information into the computer to determine the price for shipping a parcel
- using tools such as tape guns and box cutters
- cutting keys
- taking passport photos
- fingerprinting
- notarizing documents
- housekeeping including dusting, vacuuming and cleaning the bathroom
While having experience in all of the above may not be necessary for consideration, you must be willing to learn. New employees receive on-the-job training in all aspects of the job.
Preferred Qualifications
- Strong customer service, organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
- Ability to handle transactions and operate office equipment (multi-function printers, PoS systems)
- Experience with Microsoft Windows
- Experience in retail or customer-facing roles
- Ability to lift up to 40 lbs. on occasion
- Eligible to become or already a notary public
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $15.50 - $16.50 per hour
