Job Summary
We are seeking a motivated and detail-oriented GPR Locator to join our dynamic field services team. In this role, you will utilize ground-penetrating radar (GPR) technology to accurately locate underground utilities and infrastructure, ensuring safe and efficient construction and excavation activities. Your expertise in utility locating, site plan interpretation, and safety protocols will be vital in preventing utility strikes and maintaining project integrity. Duties
- Operate ground-penetrating radar (GPR) equipment and utility locating devices to identify underground utilities and structures.
- Interpret construction plans, site plans, schematics, and blueprints to accurately mark underground utilities.
- Conduct utility marking activities in accordance with safety protocols, ensuring clear communication with project teams and clients.
- Perform vacuum excavation for utility detection when necessary, using specialized equipment to expose utilities safely.
- Maintain detailed records of utility locations, markings, and site conditions for project documentation.
- Communicate effectively with clients, contractors, and team members regarding utility locations and site safety procedures.
- Operate company vehicles safely while traveling between job sites and ensure all field equipment is maintained properly.
Experience
- Proven service technician experience in utility locating or related field service roles.
- Strong background in land surveying, blueprint reading, and interpreting construction plans.
- Experience working with underground utilities, schematics, and utility marking procedures.
- Familiarity with ground-penetrating radar technology, utility locating devices, and vacuum excavation methods.
- Knowledge of safety protocols specific to outdoor work environments and construction sites.
- Prior experience operating construction equipment such as backhoes or cabling tools is a plus.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with clients and team members while adhering to safety standards in outdoor work settings.
