This is a lower acuity ICU
General ICU, Stroke(TNK), COVID, Medical, Surgical, Behavioral Health, Overdoses, post cardiac arrest, ventilators
Patient Ratios:
1:2-3 (Days & Nights) acuity based
Required Certifications:
BLS, ACLS, NIHSS
Skills required
Read/interpret strips, Vents, Chest Tubes, Traches, Line management, proning experience,
Bedside and Nursing Station tele monitoring, no tele tech in the ICU
Support on the Unit:
CNA (Ratio 1:7)
No HUC in the ICU
Charge nurse: Will take patient assignment
Phlebotomy? Available for peripheral blood draws
IV/VAT Team? During dayshift M, W, F
Resource Nurse No
RT, 24/7
Hospitalist, 24/7
ICU Educator
OT, PT, ST weekdays and variability on weekends
Intensivisit: 0600-1800, eICU 1800-0600

Floating:
Must be comfortable floating to the Cardiac unit
Orientation:
One shift to learn flow
Scheduling:
Weekend rotation: every other(default)
