Duties
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes following established recipes, menu specifications, and food safety standards
- Operate kitchen equipment such as grills, ovens, poaching stations, braising pots, and other appliances efficiently and safely
- Ensure all food handling procedures comply with sanitation and safety regulations to maintain a clean and safe kitchen environment
- Assist with menu planning by suggesting new recipes and seasonal dishes that align with culinary trends and guest preferences
- Maintain high-volume food production levels while adhering to portion control and presentation standards
- Support dietary department needs by preparing specialized meals for dietary restrictions or health requirements
- Collaborate with team members to deliver excellent food service experiences, including catering events and large-scale meal preparations
Requirements
- Proven experience in food preparation within a restaurant or food industry setting; fine dining experience is a plus
- Strong knife skills and proficiency in various cooking techniques such as grilling, braising, poaching, and meal preparation
- Knowledge of food safety management practices, sanitizing procedures, and proper food handling protocols
- Experience operating commercial kitchen equipment safely and efficiently
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment with high-volume production demands
- Familiarity with recipe adherence, menu planning, and catering services
- Excellent teamwork skills with a focus on serving guests promptly and professionally
- Previous experience in dietary aide roles or dietary department settings is advantageous
