About the Position
We are looking for a reliable, detail-oriented Medical Biller/Coder to join our growing practice. This part-time position is ideal for an experienced medical billing professional who enjoys working independently while contributing to an efficient, patient-focused office.
A Certified Professional Coder (CPC or CPC-A) is preferred. Experience with personal injury claims and reimbursement guidelines is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Verify patient insurance eligibility and benefits
- Review, code, and submit insurance claims accurately and in a timely manner
- Investigate and resolve claim denials and payment issues
- Post insurance and patient payments, adjustments, and write-offs
- Prepare and process patient statements
- Follow up on unpaid insurance claims and patient balances
- Maintain accurate billing records and documentation
- Ensure compliance with payer requirements and billing regulations
- Communicate professionally with insurance carriers, patients, and office staff to resolve billing questions
Qualifications
Required:
- Previous experience in medical billing and coding
- Knowledge of CPT, ICD-10, and HCPCS coding
- Understanding of PIP and Medicare reimbursement processes
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities
Preferred:
- CPC or CPC-A certification
- Experience with personal injury billing and reimbursement
- Familiarity with electronic health records (EHR) and practice management software
