Duties
- Assist patients with activities of daily living such as bathing, dressing, grooming, and mobility using safe lifting practices and equipment like Hoyer lifts.
- Take and record vital signs including blood pressure, temperature, pulse, and respiration rates with accuracy and professionalism.
- Support medical procedures by preparing patients, maintaining aseptic techniques, and assisting healthcare professionals during treatments such as catheter care or medication administration.
- Document patient information thoroughly using Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems like Epic or Cerner, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations and medical documentation standards.
- Monitor patients’ conditions closely, especially those with complex needs such as dementia or memory care residents, providing attentive observation for any changes requiring escalation.
- Facilitate communication between patients and healthcare teams to ensure clear understanding of care plans and patient needs.
- Support discharge planning or transition to home & community care by educating patients and families on post-care instructions.
Experience
Candidates should have prior experience working in diverse healthcare environments such as hospitals (including ICU, emergency medicine, trauma centers), long-term care facilities, assisted living communities, or home care settings. Experience with specialized populations—including geriatrics, pediatrics, individuals with developmental disabilities or behavioral health needs—is highly valued. Familiarity with medical procedures like phlebotomy or DME (durable medical equipment) use is a plus. A strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy knowledge, and proficiency with EMR/EHR systems such as Epic or eClinicalWorks is essential. Certification in Basic Life Support (BLS) and CPR is required; additional certifications like HIPAA compliance or medication administration are advantageous. Candidates should demonstrate a passion for caregiving with excellent communication skills and the ability to work effectively in fast-paced environments such as Level I Trauma Centers or Level II trauma units.

Pay: $25.17 - $30.32 per hour
