The Kirk Family YMCA has an immediate opening for a Child Care Coordinator. Reporting to the Child Care Director, the Child Care Coordinator provides support to daily operations and staff for Y After School and Summer Day Camp. This position will manage part-time staff serving in schools in our communities and our day camps. The ideal candidate has a passion for impacting the lives of youth in the community, is detail-oriented, an effective listener, a strong team builder and has a passion for serving others.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Direct and supervise program activities to meet the needs of the community and fulfill the YMCA’s objectives.
- Ensure proper registration for program participants.
- Monitor daily program operations to adhere to all state and YMCA health and safety regulations.
- Help maintain accurate records for staff and children.
- Staff scheduling.

Assist in developing and maintaining a positive child care staff team, working toward the same goals, with a vision of offering high quality, high value programs for participants.
- Attend and participate in program activities, staff meetings, and required staff trainings.
- Assist with parent communication on a daily basis through emails, memos, parent boards regarding calendar and curriculum updates as well as any events or issues.
- Additional duties assigned and required by supervisors to support the overall mission of the YMCA and promote the success of child care development.
QUALIFICATIONS

Strong written and oral communication skills

Ability to establish and maintain positive relationships with other staff, participants and parents, colleagues, community partners.
- Ability to direct programs through supervision of staff and program development.
- Ability to plan, organize, and implement program activities.
- Must be 21 years of age

Experience with assisting with curriculum implementation, classroom management, and parental communication, preferred.
- Meet educational and experience qualifications as set forth by state licensing regulations (ex. Associates degree in education, early education, or related field or equivalent years of experience).
WORK ENVIRONMENT/PHYSICAL AND MENTAL DEMANDS

Able to work independently and manage office as well as in a classroom setting.
- Physically able to assist and participate in children’s activities.
- Required skills in all Microsoft Office and Excel applications and other software required and on the job training will be provided as needed.
- Must be able to work in a fast-paced environment.

Must be flexible with changes in tasks required.

Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs.
