Job Summary:
The Quality Control Team Lead is responsible for overseeing daily inspection and quality control activities across all production shifts to ensure adherence to product quality requirements during manufacturing and prior to shipment. This role provides direct supervision to quality technicians, leads training implementation, ensures procedural compliance, manages quality event documentation and records, and serves as the primary floor-level quality authority to maintain product conformity, traceability, and compliance with the Business Management System (BMS).
Job Duties and Responsibilities:
1) Quality Control Oversight & Supervision
- Ensure continuous in-process inspection of product quality requirements during manufacturing.
- Supervise and provide direction to quality technicians across all shifts, including assignment of personnel, prioritization of inspection activities, and daily work coordination to ensure adequate quality coverage.
- Verify that day-to-day quality requirements are met at the job level and across the production floor.
- Develop and maintain product inspection criteria and inspection documentation based on approved DFMEA/PFMEA outputs and technical guidance provided by the Quality & Manufacturing Engineer, ensuring effective translation of risk-based requirements into floor-level inspection practices.
- Conduct and/or ensure completion of routine floor audits, including: two-hour quality checks on active production lines and shift-based box audits to verify packaging accuracy, labeling, and product conformity.
- Conduct post-production inspections as required to confirm product quality prior to shipment.
- Support plant initiatives to reduce scrap, rework, and quality defects through active floor engagement and communication with operations.
2) Training, Procedures & Compliance
- Lead implementation of employee training related to quality procedures, inspection methods, and work instructions.
- Ensure adherence to approved procedures and work instructions within the production environment.
- Maintain training records and verify employee qualification status.
- Support internal audits and personnel compliance activities as assigned.
3) Deviations, CAPA & Quality Event Documentation
- Lead initiation, documentation, and maintenance of deviation records and associated logs.
- Maintain CAPA logs, ensuring accurate tracking, status updates, and timely follow-up.
- Support implementation and verification of corrective actions as directed by Quality Engineering.
4) Supplier & Customer Quality Support
- Initiate, document, and track supplier-related quality issues and SCARs, ensuring timely follow-up and closure.
- Initiate and maintain customer complaint logs and related documentation.
- Provide supporting data, inspection results, and records for investigations led by the Quality Engineer.
5) Inspection & Continuous Improvement Support
- Assist with first article inspections and sampling activities as directed.
- Maintain accurate inspection and quality records in accordance with the Business Management System (BMS).
- Provide feedback from inspection trends and production observations to Quality Engineering and Operations.
- Participate in corrective action implementation and effectiveness verification activities.
6) Records, ERP & Inventory Coordination
- Perform work order review and closure within Acumatica, ensuring completeness and accuracy of documentation.
- Maintain retention and organization of batch records in accordance with BMS and record-retention requirements.
- Monitor and report quality-relevant stock levels and select controlled inventory items to the Inventory Manager and Purchasing Department to support production continuity and compliance.
Qualifications:
- High school diploma required; associate or bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Experience in quality inspection within a manufacturing environment.
- Demonstrated leadership or supervisory experience preferred.
- Familiarity with ISO 9001 and/or regulated manufacturing environments preferred.
- Strong attention to detail, organization, and documentation skills.
- Effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to lead, train, and mentor personnel.

Pay: $55,000.00 - $60,000.00 per year
