Duties
- Greet patients and visitors warmly, ensuring a positive first impression and smooth check-in process
- Verify insurance coverage through insurance verification procedures and update appointments using electronic health records, maintaining accurate calendar management
- Collect payments and perform medical collections to ensure timely reimbursement
- Manage patient records with meticulous attention to detail, including filing.
- Handle multi-line phone systems with professional phone etiquette, responding promptly to inquiries and directing calls appropriately
- Support medical billing processesICD-9, ICD-10 codes, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations
- Maintain confidentiality of protected health information (PHI) in accordance with HIPAA standards
- follow-up appointments coordinate with clinical staff to facilitate care plans and front desk operations efficiently
Qualifications
- Experience in a medical office setting or healthcare environment, preferably in clinics
- Excellent computer skills and health information management software
- Exceptional customer service skills coupled with professional phone etiquette and effective communication abilities
- Bilingual abilities are highly desirable to serve diverse patient populations effectively
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance standards and documentation review procedures is essential
- Prior clinic office experience is preferred; candidates should demonstrate strong organizational skills, attention to details
