Job Description:
MBCO Engineering is looking for a full-time, experienced SUE Designator to add to the team in their West Houston Office. This role is instrumental in the continued growth of the department. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of ten (10) years of experience in utility field investigation for the Subsurface Utility Engineering (SUE) industry.
Description:
- Understand the use of frequency and coupling of frequency to different utility systems for the purpose of utility detection
- Understand and review utility records for the various public and private utility systems
- Operate various types of geophysical equipment to identify and designate all subsurface utility systems
- Work as the lead on a two-person crew to designate subsurface non-gravity utilities
- Understands the basics of surveying
- Ensure that utility designating performed is collected properly by survey crew by providing quality assurance
- Document findings through field sketches (hand or digital)
- Work safety
- Maintain SUE equipment and company work vehicle
Requirements:
- Problem solving skills
- Available to work 40 hours per week and overtime when needed.
- Able to work throughout the state of Texas, staying overnight as needed at project locations, with the possibility of being out of town for up to two-weeks at a time.
- Able to communicate clearly with coworkers in the field, project managers, and Leadership via telephone, text and email.
- Able to report to work on-time.
- Must have a clean driving record, and a valid USA state driver’s license.
- Must pass pre-employment background, drug screenings and MVR check.
- Must be able to safely lift up to 75 pounds.
- Must be able to safely stand for up to 10 hours per day.
- Must be able to safely work outdoors, regardless of temperature (hot or cold).
