Assistant Director of Nursing

We are seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing to join our team at Absolut Care of Gasport. As a key member of our leadership team, the Assistant Director of Nursing will play a vital role in ensuring the highest quality of care for our residents and promoting a positive and supportive work environment for our staff. The Assistant Director of Nursing will complement our Director of Nursing for our facility!
About the Role:
As an Assistant Director of Nursing, you will be responsible for overseeing the day-to-day operations of our nursing department, including leadership, staffing, and resident care. Your exceptional leadership and communication skills will be essential in managing a team of skilled nurses and supporting staff to provide individualized care to our residents. You will also collaborate with other departments to ensure seamless care and services to our residents.
Key Responsibilities:
Will be responsible for all staff education and mandatories in accordance with NYSDOH regulations.
All Infection Prevention aspects of the facility for the residents and the staff
Will hold General Orientation weekly for new hires
- Oversee the planning, implementation, and evaluation of nursing services, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and company policies
- Manage and coordinate the daily activities of the nursing department, including scheduling, staffing, and resident care
- Provide guidance and support to nursing staff, encouraging professional development and promoting a positive work environment
- Collaborate with other departments, such as medication administration, therapy, and dietary, to ensure comprehensive care for our residents
- Participate in quality improvement initiatives, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes to enhance the delivery of care
- Develop and maintain relationships with families, residents, and healthcare providers to ensure excellent customer service and satisfaction
Requirements:
- Minimum 5 years of experience in a long-term care setting, with a minimum of 2 years in a leadership role
- Infection Prevention Module Certification
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills
- Ability to interact with residents, families, and staff in a professional and compassionate manner
- Familiarity with state and federal regulations, as well as company policies and procedures
