New Approaches Mental Health Services (NAMHS) is seeking Contract PLPCs to work with clients and their families in Iberia, St. Martin, St. Landry, Lafayette, St. Mary, and Vermilion Parishes via Telehealth and some face-to-face if needed! PLPCs work with clients providing community psychiatric supportive treatment relating to the client's diagnosis. Potential candidates must be driven, able to work independently, flexible, willing to work evenings and weekends, and willing to travel. An active Louisiana PLPC License is REQUIRED. Must be able to pass background check and drug test.
- Must have an active Louisiana professional license professional counselor license (PLPC)
Duties:
- Conduct individual counseling sessions to assess and address clients' mental health needs
- Utilize various therapeutic techniques, such as cognitive behavioral therapy, to help clients overcome challenges
- Assist clients by providing counseling and psychoeducation related to goals in the client's treatment plan.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to ensure comprehensive care for clients
- Maintain accurate and confidential client records
Requirements:
- Valid license as a Provisionally Licensed Professional Counselor (PLPC) in Louisiana
- Master's degree in Counseling or a related field
- Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to establish rapport with diverse individuals
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and adhere to ethical guidelines
