About the Position
Edmonds School District Assistant Principals work with the building administrative team to supervise, direct, and evaluate assigned staff; utilize the evaluation process to promote professional growth and staff development; provide educational leadership and develop, implement, and assess an effective learning program to continuously improve student performance.
Assistant Principals create a positive learning environment sensitive to diverse socioeconomic and ethnic groups; promote shared decision making and teamwork; assist with the planning and supervision of activities during the school day, at night, and on weekends; supervise curriculum planning and professional development programs in the building; supervise student conduct and oversee building disciplinary procedures; implement school and District attendance policies; assist with the implementation of Federal, State and local educational reform efforts; participate in District-level decision-making and articulation activities.
Located in Lynnwood, WA, Spruce serves approximately 630 student in grades K-6. Spruce Elementary serves the neighborhood service area as well as one of the district's four English-Spanish Dual Language choice programs.
This position begins the 2026-27 school year.
Required Qualifications:

Master's Degree
-
Valid Washington State Principal's Credential for the secondary level or ability to obtain prior to start date

Previous school administration and/or teaching experience at the secondary level
-
Knowledge and understanding of the use of an instructional framework to guide instructional practices, including experience with Teacher/Principal Evaluation Program (TPEP)

2026-27 Elementary School Assistant Principal Salary: $171,350 to $183,204 per year, depending on education credits.

- Our benefits package includes Washington state health insurance coverage (SEBB) and a Washington state retirement package for eligible positions. Eligibility for SEBB state health insurance coverage is determined by working 630 hours during the school year (Health, Dental, Vision, Long-term Disability, Life and AD+D Insurance, and options for HSA, FSA, and DCAP). Eligibility for retirement at the time of hire is determined by employees who work at least 3.5 hours per day in a continuing position.
