Position: Park and Recreation Aide 3

Pay Rate: $18.19 per hour
Schedule: This position is expected to be 24 hours per week. The work schedule is Thursday and Friday 8:00am to 4:30, and Saturday scheduled events will require you to work on a flexible schedule of 2:30pm to 11pm. Additional hours during the week will be considered. This position is temporary/seasonal through November 2026.
About the Role
The responsibilities of this position are based on assisting the Visitor Center Event Coordinator to event bookings in our Helderberg Room. The incumbent will be versed in customer service relations and able to work directly with renters to assist the processes and permitting involved in wedding and event planning of the Visitor Center rooms offering the utmost customer service. This includes assisting the Event Coordinator in callbacks, email correspondence, and answering questions regarding current and potential bookings, room showings/walkthroughs, and permitting processes. The applicant will work with the Event Coordinator to provide effective communication with the renters and office staff in the organization and logistics of the events to avoid potential conflicts. Day of event support will be required and schedule will be coordinated with the Event Coordinator.
Candidate will also cover front desk work at the Thacher Visitor Center, including but not limited to answering phones, taking messages, answering general park inquiries, assisting with gift shop sales, and assisting with other areas as needed.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Qualified candidates must demonstrate an ability to work independently.
- Must be able to climb stairs and stand for extended periods of time.
- Must have the ability to communicate effectively in writing and read and comprehend written material.
- Flexibility in scheduling and work assignments is required.
- Positive and professional customer service is required.
