About the Role
We are hiring an Aide to support daily food service operations within a hospital environment. This hands-on role plays a critical part in maintaining a clean, safe, and welcoming dining experience for patients, visitors, and staff. The Aide supports dishwashing, basic food preparation, cashiering, and dining area upkeep while delivering excellent customer service in a healthcare food service setting.
What You’ll Do
Food Service & Kitchen Support
- Wash dishes, pots, pans, and trays using manual and machine methods
- Maintain clean, sanitary kitchen, dish, and food prep areas daily
- Assist with minor food preparation, baking, brewing coffee, and beverage service
- Support special functions by setting up, breaking down, and stocking service areas
Customer Service & Café Operations
- Operate cash register accurately, including making change without POS reliance
- Greet guests, assist with trays, and ensure positive café and food court experiences
- Maintain cleanliness and appearance of dining room, coffee house, and food court
Inventory, Safety & Compliance
- Receive, label, rotate, and store incoming food and supply deliveries
- Track and record refrigerator and freezer temperatures per safety guidelines
- Follow Ohio Department of Health food safety code and HACCP standards
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Work cooperatively with kitchen staff, cashiers, and food service leadership
- Support patient, visitor, and conference center food service needs
- Communicate respectfully with colleagues and guests in a fast-paced environment

Work Environment
This is a 100% onsite position in a hospital food service environment in Port Clinton, Ohio.

- Ability to read, write, follow instructions, and perform basic math in English
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of or ability to learn food safety and sanitation practices
Preferred
- High school diploma or GED
- Previous food service, cashier, or customer service experience
- Experience using a cash register or POS system
- Energetic, organized, and able to multitask in a busy setting
