About the Role
As Goodland opens new pickleball facilities across our markets, we're looking for a creative, detail-oriented Architect Intern to support the design, development, and delivery of our facility projects. In this role, you'll contribute to the design of new courts and locations across various scales and typologies. This position is ideal for an architecture graduate or student gaining hands-on experience toward licensure, seeking meaningful, high-quality design work in a fast-growing, collaborative studio environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in developing architectural concepts, schematic designs, and design development documents for new Goodland facilities
- Help prepare construction drawings, specifications, and technical documentation for court layouts, lighting, flooring, and other facility elements
- Coordinate with engineers, consultants, and contractors throughout the project lifecycle
- Conduct site visits and assessments at prospective and in-progress facility locations
- Support efforts to ensure designs comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards
- Participate in client presentations and design review meetings
- Collaborate with the internal team on project schedules, budgets, and deliverables as new locations move toward opening
- Assist in reviewing and responding to Requests for Information (RFIs) and submittals during construction
Qualifications
- Bachelor's or Master's degree (or current enrollment) in Architecture from an accredited institution
- Working knowledge of SketchUp, AutoCAD, Rhinoceros 3D, Revit, and Adobe Creative Suite
- Basic understanding of project scheduling methodologies and project management principles
- Skilled in drafting, CAD modeling, and assisting with detailed construction documents
- Familiarity with contract administration processes and construction procedures is a plus
- Excellent communication skills for effective collaboration with clients and team members
- Ability to support multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining high-quality standards
- Interest in sports/recreational facility design and excitement to be part of Goodland's expansion is a plus
Pay: $30.00 - $50.00 per hour
