Job Description Pre-op/PACU RN
GI Ambulatory Surgery Center is seeking full-time and per diem Pre-op/PACU nurses. The Pre-op/PACU nurse will coordinate and provide patient care to adult patients undergoing Endoscopy procedures in our privately owned ASC. We are seeking individuals who demonstrate the values of our company by caring for our patients like family.

Company currently has 3 separate facilities within Las Vegas Valley and current applicants will be required to travel based on facility needs.
Our full-time nurses work Monday-Friday, no holidays. We do open occasionally on Saturdays but try to utilize per diem staff if necessary.
We utilize many per diem nurses and ask for a commitment of at least 1-2 days per week consistently (negotiable). We will gladly work per diem nurses more days if desired.
Hours are generally 6am-2pm for pre-op and 7am-2pm for PACU. We sometimes start a little earlier or later depending on the case load and physician.
Willing to cross train in both Pre-op and PACU for nurses that are interested.
Fast paced environment and must be able to stand for extended periods of time.
Pre-op Nurses responsibilities include:
- Exceptional IV skills
- Preparing the surgical suite prior to procedures by ensuring all needed medications and supplies are stocked and available.
- Ability to assess patients during admission to ensure they still meet criteria to be done in an outpatient setting.
- Ability to review patient medical records/needs and communicate any changes in patient condition prior to procedure to physician and/or anesthesia provider in an efficient and timely manner.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
- Ability to utilize a computerized charting system (training provided).
- Provide safe medication administration in the pre-op setting when necessary.
- Use principles of aseptic technique in varying situations
PACU Nurse responsibilities include:
- Prepare your patients’ care area adequately and ensure necessary equipment and supplies are readily available.
- Demonstrate proper patient airway management post procedure.
- Monitor patient vital signs according to company policy.
- Ability to assess post-operative patients and communicate any changes in patient condition to the physician and/or anesthesia provider in a timely manner.
- Exhibit proper techniques for maintenance and removal of IV catheters and saline locks.
- Ability to utilize computerized charting system (training provided).
- Provide safe medication administration in the PACU setting.
- Use principles of aseptic technique in varying situations.
Required Qualifications
- Current, unrestricted NV RN license
- BLS
- ACLS (or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire)
- 1 year Nursing experience in either an acute care setting and/or ambulatory surgical setting (other specialties on a case-by-case basis)
- Self-motivated with problem solving skills
- Ability to work as a team member
- Punctual and dependable
- Demonstrates strong professional and ethical behavior
Preferred Qualifications
- 1+ year Critical care experience in either ICU, ER, or Step-Down Unit.
- Previous GI experience is an advantage (not required and willing to train).
- Leadership/supervisory experience a plus
Pay: From $45.00 per hour
