Position Summary
· The Senior Accountant is responsible for managing day-to-day accounting operations while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial records. This role is responsible for accounts payable, accounts receivable, fixed asset accounting, sales tax compliance, general ledger reconciliations, month-end close activities, and other core accounting functions.
Accounts Payable
· Upload/enter vendor invoices into the accounting system and ensure accurate coding (low volume).
· Manage AP email to ensure all invoices, requests and statements are timely reviewed.
· Ensure invoices are charged to the appropriate general ledger accounts and jobs/projects.
· Process weekly vendor payments.
· Communicate with vendors and internal team members regarding invoice approvals and payment status.
· Ensure all AP transactions have proper support and documentation uploaded to the accounting system.
Accounts Receivable
· Prepare and issue customer invoices accurately and timely (low volume).
· Monitor customer accounts and assist with collections as needed.
· Work with departments to ensure billing information is complete and accurate.
Expense Management
· Review employee expense reimbursements and company credit card transactions in Ramp for appropriate coding.
· Verify supporting documentation and approvals.
· Follow up on missing documentation or discrepancies.
Sales Tax Compliance
· Manage sales tax compliance activities and reporting after the migration to Vertex.
· Review and validate sales tax calculations and filings using Vertex.
· Research and resolve sales tax discrepancies.
· Ensure compliance with state and local tax requirements.
Fixed Asset Accounting
· Maintain fixed asset schedules and supporting documentation (low volume).
· Record fixed asset additions, disposals, transfers, and depreciation.
· Review capital expenditures and ensure proper capitalization.
· Reconcile fixed asset subsidiary ledger to the general ledger.
General Ledger & Month-End Close
· Prepare and post month-end journal entries.
· Perform monthly general ledger account reconciliations and investigate discrepancies.
· Assist with month-end and year-end closing activities.
· Review financial transactions to ensure proper accounting treatment.
· Ensure transactions are recorded in the proper accounting period.
Account Reconciliations
· Perform monthly bank account reconciliations.
· Reconcile balance sheet accounts and investigate unusual variances.
· Maintain supporting schedules for assigned accounts.
General Accounting
· Support annual financial statement audit.
· Assist with process improvements and special projects.
· Perform other accounting duties as assigned.
Qualifications
· Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance preferred.
· Minimum 4–6 years of progressive accounting experience.
· Experience with fixed asset accounting required.
· Experience with sales tax compliance and Vertex preferred.
· Strong communication and organizational skills.
· Advanced Excel skills preferred.
· Experience with QuickBooks strongly preferred.
· NetSuite experience strongly preferred.
Pay: $80,000.00 - $90,000.00 per year
