Responsibilities
- Prepare treatment rooms with dental instruments, supplies, and equipment, ensuring all tools are sterilized according to infection prevention management protocols.
- Assist dentists during a variety of procedures including oral surgery, endodontics, prosthodontics, and pediatric dentistry by providing chairside support.
- Take dental x-rays and 3D scans using advanced medical imaging technology while maintaining strict adherence to dental sterilization procedures.
- Manage patient records accurately within electronic medical records (EMR) systems such as Eaglesoft, Dentrix, or similar software, ensuring compliance with HIPAA and clinical confidentiality policies.
- Monitor vital signs and assist in patient management before, during, and after treatments to promote comfort and safety.
- Educate patients on oral health care practices and post-treatment instructions to enhance patient care outcomes.
- Maintain a clean, organized clinical environment by processing dental instruments efficiently and following infection control standards aligned with healthcare infection prevention and control expertise.
Experience
- Prior experience working in a dental clinic setting is preferred.
- Familiarity with dental terminology, dental equipment operation, and medical documentation practices is highly advantageous.
- Knowledge of EMR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix Ascend enhances your ability to manage patient records effectively.
- Understanding of infection prevention management, aseptic technique, and dental sterilization procedures ensures compliance with safety standards.
- Experience supporting general dentistry procedures along with specialized areas like pediatric dentistry, oral surgery, endodontics, or prosthodontics is a plus.
