Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Transport Driver to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for safely transporting freight/vehicles to various locations while adhering to all safety regulations and company policies. This role requires proficiency in operating different types of vehicles, including flatbed trucks, tractor-trailers, and refrigerated trailers. A strong commitment to customer service and efficient delivery is essential. We are partnered with many dealerships along route 70, along with F.C. Kerbeck. We take these partnerships serious.
Duties
- Operate commercial vehicles, including flatbed trucks, tractor-trailers, and refrigerated trailers, ensuring safe transport of goods.
- Load and unload freight using appropriate equipment such as forklifts.
- Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure safety and compliance with regulations.
- Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including logs of driving hours and vehicle maintenance.
- Navigate routes efficiently while adhering to traffic laws and company policies.
- Communicate effectively with dispatchers and customers regarding delivery schedules and any potential issues.
- Handle freight with care to prevent damage during transport.
Requirements
- Valid commercial driver’s license (CDL) with appropriate endorsements for the type of vehicle operated.
- Proven experience in truck driving, particularly with flatbed, tanker, or refrigerated trailers.
- Familiarity with manual transmission vehicles is preferred.
- Ability to load and unload freight safely and efficiently.
- Knowledge of transportation regulations and safety standards.
- Strong communication skills for effective interaction with team members and clients.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
- A commitment to maintaining a clean driving record.
