Security Staff/Door Staff - Butler Street Derby
Butler Street Derby is a brand new bar and restaurant opening soon in the hot Lawrenceville neighborhood of Pittsburgh! We're seeking reliable and professional Security Staff/Door Staff to join our opening team and ensure a safe, enjoyable environment for our patrons.

Located just steps from the Strip District, Butler Street Derby promises to be Lawrenceville's premiere nightlife and dining destination. Our multi-million dollar renovation features:

We'll offer a fun, high-energy vibe at night with DJ events, dancing and signature cocktails. During the day, we'll have more of a laid-back restaurant atmosphere with creative American fare and party brunches on the weekends.
Security Staff/Door Staff Job Responsibilities:
The following list represents the primary duties of the Security Staff/Door Staff position, but is not all-inclusive. Additional responsibilities may be assigned as needed:
- Monitor entry points and check IDs to ensure patrons meet age requirements
- Maintain order and ensure the safety of patrons and staff throughout the venue
- De-escalate potential conflicts and handle disruptive behavior professionally
- Assist in managing crowd control and maintaining occupancy limits
- Conduct regular patrols of the premises, including restrooms and outdoor areas
- Respond quickly and appropriately to emergencies or security incidents
- Coordinate with management and other staff to address any security concerns
- Enforce house rules and policies consistently and fairly
- Assist with evacuation procedures in case of emergency
- Maintain a visible and approachable presence to deter potential issues
- Provide excellent customer service while maintaining a security-focused mindset
- Document and report any security incidents or concerns to management
- Assist with opening and closing procedures as needed
- Participate in regular security team meetings and training sessions
- Collaborate with local law enforcement when necessary
- Maintain cleanliness and organization of the entry area
- Perform any other duties as assigned by management to ensure smooth and safe operation of the establishment
Requirements:
- Must be at least 21 years of age
- High school diploma or equivalent required; some college education preferred
- Previous experience in security, law enforcement, or military is a plus
- Strong physical presence and ability to stand for extended periods
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to remain calm and professional in high-pressure situations
- Strong decision-making and problem-solving skills
- Attention to detail and ability to maintain situational awareness
- Flexibility to work nights, weekends, and holidays
- Proficiency in using radio communication devices

Job Type: Part-time
Pay: $22.00 - $25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5.0 – 35.0 per week
