Duties
- Prepare ingredients through slicing, dicing, and portioning according to recipes and menu specifications
- Cook a variety of dishes with precision, adhering to established food safety standards and recipe guidelines
- Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, mixers, and food processors safely and efficiently
- Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to ensure a hygienic environment
- Assist in menu planning by preparing ingredients for upcoming meals and catering events
- Communicate effectively with kitchen staff to coordinate meal preparation and service flow
- Follow food handling procedures meticulously to ensure safety standards are met during all stages of food production
Experience
- Prior experience in food service, restaurant kitchens, or catering environments is highly desirable
- Knowledge of dietary department practices and dietary aide experience is a plus
- Demonstrated ability in food preparation, cooking techniques, and knife skills including slicing techniques
- Familiarity with food safety management practices and safety standards in production environments
- Experience operating various kitchen equipment with attention to proper use and maintenance
- Strong communication skills for effective teamwork within the kitchen setting
- Background in culinary arts or food industry roles that showcase recipe adherence and meal preparation expertise
