Duties
- Monitor surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras and access control systems to detect suspicious activity or security breaches
- Conduct regular patrols of designated areas to ensure safety and security standards are maintained
- Verify the identity of visitors, contractors, and staff through performing background checks and managing access control procedures
- Respond promptly to incidents or emergencies by following established emergency response procedures, including first aid, CPR, AED operation, and fire safety protocols
- Write detailed incident reports documenting any security concerns, breaches, or unusual activities for record-keeping and follow-up
- Manage conflict de-escalation techniques when dealing with disruptive individuals or disputes on-site
- Perform manual handling tasks such as heavy lifting when necessary for security equipment or supplies while adhering to safety guidelines
Skills
- Strong surveillance skills with experience operating CCTV systems and monitoring multiple screens effectively
- Knowledge of law enforcement procedures and familiarity with performing background checks
- Ability to handle emergency situations calmly using first aid, CPR, AED operation, and fire safety knowledge
- Excellent customer service skills with a professional demeanor when interacting with visitors and staff
- Proficiency in incident report writing with attention to detail and accuracy
- Physical security expertise including patrolling, access control management, and loss prevention techniques
- Conflict management abilities to de-escalate tense situations safely and efficiently
- Understanding of compliance with security regulations and protocols related to unarmed guarding duties
