Job Summary
At Scout 5 Construction, we are seeking an experienced Traveling Road & Bridge Construction Superintendent to oversee heavy civil infrastructure projects. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of five (5) years of superintendent-level experience in road and bridge construction and a proven ability to lead field operations safely, efficiently, and successfully. This position offers the opportunity to join a growing team dedicated to delivering high-quality infrastructure projects.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee daily field operations for road, bridge, and heavy civil construction projects
- Supervise field crews, subcontractors, equipment utilization, and material deliveries
- Ensure projects are completed on schedule and within budget
- Enforce company safety policies and conduct daily and weekly safety meetings
- Maintain accurate daily reports, production logs, and project documentation
- Coordinate with project managers, engineers, TxDOT inspectors, subcontractors, and project owners
- Read and interpret construction plans, specifications, and contract documents
- Identify and resolve field issues proactively to minimize delays and maintain productivity
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience as a Construction Superintendent in road and bridge construction
- Strong knowledge of asphalt and concrete paving, bridge construction, drainage systems, and heavy civil operations
- Experience working with TxDOT specifications and projects strongly preferred
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, plans, and technical specifications
- Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record and reliable transportation
- OSHA 30 certification, or the ability to obtain certification upon hire
Preferred Qualifications
- Current or recent TxDOT project experience
- Bilingual in English and Spanish
