Job Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated and vigilant Armed Security Officer to join our dynamic security team. Duties
- Conduct regular patrols of premises using surveillance equipment and manual checks to detect suspicious activity or security breaches.
- Manage access control systems to authorize entry for employees, visitors, contractors, and vendors while maintaining detailed logs of all entries and exits.
- Respond swiftly to emergency situations by executing established procedures such as fire safety protocols, first aid, CPR, AED operation, and emergency evacuations.
- Write comprehensive incident reports documenting security breaches, accidents, or other notable events with clarity and accuracy.
- Perform background checks on new staff or visitors as part of the security screening process to ensure compliance with company policies.
- Utilize CCTV surveillance systems to monitor activity across the facility and identify potential threats or irregularities.
- Handle conflict de-escalation and conflict management techniques to resolve disputes peacefully while maintaining safety for all parties involved.
- Operate security equipment such as Tasers, firearms (where legally permitted), and other tools responsibly following strict safety guidelines.
- Conduct heavy lifting and manual handling tasks when necessary for equipment or incident management while adhering to safety standards.
- Collaborate with law enforcement agencies during investigations or emergencies to ensure swift resolution and adherence to legal requirements.
Skills
- Strong knowledge of surveillance techniques including CCTV operation and monitoring systems.
- Experience in military or law enforcement environments demonstrating discipline and tactical awareness.
- Certified in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and emergency response procedures to provide immediate assistance when needed.
- Proficiency in operating access control systems and performing background checks efficiently.
- Excellent communication skills for incident report writing, customer service interactions, and conflict de-escalation.
- Familiarity with physical security measures such as patrolling routines, firearm handling (where permitted), Taser use, and heavy lifting techniques.
- Ability to remain calm under pressure during emergency situations while executing security protocols effectively.
- Knowledge of compliance with security regulations and legal standards governing private security operations.
- Demonstrated ability to perform manual handling tasks safely while maintaining situational awareness at all times.
