Job Overview
We are seeking a dynamic and responsible Key Holder to join our retail team! In this vital role, you will serve as a trusted leader on the sales floor, ensuring smooth store operations, delivering exceptional customer service, and motivating your team to achieve their best. As a Key Holder, you will be entrusted with opening and closing the store, managing daily activities, and supporting management in maintaining a vibrant shopping environment. Responsibilities
- Open and close the store confidently, ensuring all procedures are followed accurately
- Supervise daily retail operations including cash handling, inventory management, and merchandising
- Provide outstanding customer service by addressing inquiries, resolving issues, and creating a welcoming shopping experience
- Lead and motivate team members through effective training, coaching, and performance feedback
- Assist with recruiting efforts by participating in interviewing prospective employees and onboarding new staff
- Manage stock levels through inventory control, purchasing, and merchandising to maximize sales opportunities
- Oversee POS (Point of Sale) systems for transactions, returns, and refunds while ensuring accuracy in cashiering tasks
- Support management with scheduling shifts, supervising staff during peak hours, and maintaining store standards
Skills
- Strong leadership abilities with previous assistant manager or supervisory experience in retail or grocery settings
- Excellent communication skills; bilingual or multilingual capabilities are a plus for serving diverse customers
- Proficiency in retail math, pricing strategies, sales management, and retail management principles
- Skilled in negotiation, employee orientation, interviewing techniques, and training & development practices
- Knowledge of inventory management systems, POS technology, cash handling procedures, and bookkeeping basics
- Effective time management skills with the ability to prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Organizational skills for managing stock levels, merchandising displays, and store cleanliness
- Experience with marketing initiatives such as promotions or wireless sales is advantageous
- Ability to handle customer inquiries professionally via phone etiquette and face-to-face interactions
