Pay Range:
- Up to$50 per hour flat rate (based on factors such as Technician skill level, manufacturer certifications, and job performance) - Top Technicians earning $100k plus per year!
Job Responsibilities:
- Perform comprehensive diagnostics using automotive electrical systems, schematics, and advanced tools to identify issues accurately.
- Repair and maintain various vehicle systems including powertrain, transmission, brakes, suspension, and steering.
- Conduct wheel alignments and ADAS (Advanced Driver Assistance Systems) calibrations to ensure vehicle safety features function properly.
- Utilize hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic software to execute repairs efficiently.
- Inspect vehicles thoroughly for mechanical issues and perform routine maintenance such as oil changes, tire rotations, and fluid replacements.
- Follow manufacturer specifications and schematics to complete repairs correctly the first time.
- Provide excellent customer service by explaining repairs clearly and ensuring customer satisfaction throughout the service process.
Qualifications:
- Valid Driver's License.
- High School Diploma or equivalent.
- Experience as an Automotive Technician or similar role.
- Strong mechanical knowledge and diagnostic skills.
- Familiarity with dealership operations is highly preferred.
- Proficient in automotive repair techniques and tools.
- Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
- Excellent communication skills for effective customer interaction.
- Knowledge of automotive electrical systems is a plus.
- Experience with electrical engine repair is advantageous.
Skills:
- Dealership experience or automotive repair background preferred; all levels considered.
- Strong mechanical knowledge with familiarity in automotive electrical systems and diagnostics.
- Experience working with gas and diesel engines is a plus.
- Proficiency with schematics, automotive service manuals, and diagnostic tools.
- Ability to perform diesel engine repairs and work with vehicle maintenance schedules.
- Skilled in using hand tools, power tools, equipment, and alignment machines.
- Excellent customer service skills with a positive attitude toward teamwork and continuous learning.
- ASE certifications are advantageous but not mandatory.
Attendance Expectations:
The position requires regular and predictable attendance in-person at an automotive dealership. Scheduled shifts are typically 5-days per week, rotating Saturdays, and may include holidays.
Physical Demands:
Must be able to lift up to (50) pounds. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear; stand; walk; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms and stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
Environment Demands:
Duties are performed primarily in the automotive service area. Work includes movement around vehicles, working in various physical positions, and the safe operation of power tools and test equipment. May be exposed to loud noise, vibration, exhaust fumes, and other service and repair conditions. Frequently interacts with customers, service advisors and the service manager.
Verbal and Writing Ability:
Ability to read and comprehend instructions, correspondence, and memos. Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers and other employees.
Math Ability:
Ability to add, subtract, multiply and divide.
Reasoning Ability:
Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions. Ability to deal with standardized situations. Ability to understand and follow technical manuals.
