Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Conduct patient assessments by taking vital signs, medical histories, and evaluating oral health status.
- Assist with dental procedures using four-handed dentistry techniques to improve efficiency and patient comfort.
- Operate dental equipment such as X-ray machines, intraoral cameras, and digital imaging systems while maintaining safety protocols.
- Document treatment notes, ensuring compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Review medical and dental records for accuracy, completeness, and proper documentation of patient care activities.
- Educate patients on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and post-treatment instructions to promote lasting oral health.
- Maintain infection prevention standards through aseptic techniques, sterilization procedures, and adherence to healthcare infection control guidelines.
- Assist with medical imaging procedures such as X-rays while ensuring patient safety through proper technique and equipment handling.
Qualifications
- Valid state licensure as a Dental Hygienist with current CPR certification.
- Strong knowledge of dental terminology, anatomy, medical terminology, and dental equipment operation.
- Familiarity with HIPAA regulations, maintaining patient confidentiality, and healthcare infection prevention practices.
- Ability to perform chairside assisting duties efficiently while providing excellent patient care in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication skills to educate patients effectively about their oral health needs
Pay: $50.00 - $55.00 per hour
