The Registered Nurse (RN) administers patient care in a hospital or inpatient/observation setting where acute care patients receive active treatment for injuries, illnesses, medical conditions, or post-intervention recovery. This role requires strong clinical assessment, critical thinking, and collaboration skills to ensure optimal patient outcomes.
Education & Training

Graduate of an approved school of nursing

Meets all mandatory, developmental, and performance competency requirements for Orlando Health and the assigned unit
Licensure & Certification
Maintains current State of Florida RN license or valid eNLC multistate RN license- Maintains current BLS/Healthcare Provider certification.
- ACLS, NRP, PALS, TNCC are required for certain areas. NRP required for Neonatal Intensive care Unit(NICU).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license and has reliable transportation to travel to perform job duties for Hospital Care at Home In home nursing
Experience

Minimum of 1 year RN experience required
Essential Functions
-
Perform ultrasound-guided insertion of peripheral IVs, midlines, and other vascular access devices in accordance with evidence-based practice.

Assess patients for the most appropriate vascular access device based on diagnosis, treatment plan, and vessel integrity.

Troubleshoot, maintain, and manage vascular devices to prevent complications (e.g., infiltration, infection, thrombosis).

Conduct comprehensive vascular assessments, including vein selection and risk stratification (e.g., difficult access patients).

Collaborate with physicians, nursing staff, and interdisciplinary teams to coordinate timely vascular access for treatment delivery.

Serve as a clinical resource and consultant for bedside staff regarding vascular access decisions and best practices.

Participate in quality improvement initiatives and nursing committees

Engage in peer review, mentoring, and professional development

Attend staff meetings, in-services, and continuing education opportunities

Support onboarding and training of new staff and students
