American Traveler is hiring an experienced Labor & Delivery RN for a night shift position requiring high-risk L&D experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center and an active IL RN license.

Work in the Labor & Delivery unit of a Level 1 Trauma Center hospital
-
Covers antepartum, labor and delivery, lactation, and postpartum patient needs
-
Night shift schedule from 6:45 PM to 7:15 AM
-
Requires working every 3rd weekend and holiday rotation
-
13-week assignment length
-
36 guaranteed hours per week

Active IL RN license currently in hand
-
Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NRP

Minimum 2 years of nursing experience required

High-risk labor and delivery experience at a Level 1 Trauma Center required

Graduate of an accredited nursing program with education verification required

COVID-19 vaccination required
-
Utilize the nursing process and collaborate with interdisciplinary team members in patient care
-
Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to approved nursing techniques and standards of care

Develop, initiate, and execute individualized patient plans of care as prescribed by physicians and hospital policy

Provide patient and family education as part of the care plan

Participate in department or unit performance improvement activities, which may include shared governance

Provide clinical expertise and guidance to other units and departments supporting the patient's longitudinal plan of care

Apply critical thinking to patient safety and experience, escalating concerns through the appropriate chain of command
