Job Summary
We are seeking a dedicated and energetic Dental Hygienist to join our vibrant dental team! Duties
- Perform thorough dental cleanings, including scaling and polishing, to remove plaque and tartar buildup.
- Take and develop dental radiographs (X-rays) using dental imaging equipment, ensuring accurate diagnostics.
- Conduct patient assessments by reviewing medical histories, vital signs, and current oral health status.
- Provide comprehensive patient education on oral hygiene practices, preventive care, and treatment options.
- Assist the dentist during various procedures through chairside assisting, ensuring infection prevention and aseptic techniques are maintained.
- Manage electronic health records (EHR/EHR systems like Eaglesoft or Dentrix), documenting treatment details accurately and reviewing medical records for completeness.
- Maintain dental equipment, ensure sterilization protocols are followed, and uphold infection control standards in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
- Educate patients about dental terminology, procedures, and post-treatment care to foster understanding and cooperation.
- Support the dental team by managing appointment scheduling, patient flow, and ensuring a welcoming environment for all patients.
Experience
- Prior experience working as a Dental Hygienist in a general or pediatric dentistry setting is preferred.
- Proficiency with EHR systems such as Eaglesoft or Dentrix is highly desirable.
- Knowledge of pediatric dentistry practices and working with children is a plus.
- Strong understanding of medical terminology, anatomy, dental equipment operation, and infection prevention management.
- Experience performing dental x-rays (X-ray), vital signs measurement, and utilizing medical imaging tools.
- Familiarity with HIPAA compliance management and maintaining patient confidentiality is essential.
- Excellent communication skills to effectively educate patients of all ages about dental care and health practices.
